Macdero Construction (Ontario) Ltd., founded in 1985, set out with a clear mission: to provide professional, client-centred building and structural restoration services in a constantly evolving real estate landscape.
For 40 years, we’ve stayed dedicated to our commitment, continuously evolving to meet the changing needs of our clients and the increasing demands of industry standards. In response, we expanded our footprint by adding crucial office, warehouse, and yard space to support our growth. At the same time, we bolstered our capabilities with the addition of three fully built-out, in-house divisions. This strategic expansion enables us to deliver a comprehensive, 360-degree approach to building restoration, providing our clients with seamless, customized solutions that address every aspect of their projects.
The foundation of our longevity is built on the dedication of our team members, who bring expertise from diverse fields such as engineering, architecture, trades, and business. 40 years of restoration excellence
1985
Nick Fodero (retired co-founder) W.G. Bill Mackay (president and co-founder) and Bruno Porciello officially announce the formation of Macdero Construction Limited, specialist contractors in Concrete Restoration, Waterproofing and Asphalt Maintenance.


1987
After three years at 35 Taber Road in North Etobicoke, Macdero Construction founders Bill Mackay and Nick Fodero relocate the company to 13 Jutland Road in South Etobicoke. The move provides expanded space and closer proximity to downtown Toronto, aligning with the company’s growth and strategic goals. 13 Jutland Rd, pictured left.
1989
Macdero Construction’s first Superintendent, Bruno Porciello, hard at work at his desk—complete with an ashtray, common in those days. Bruno also paved the way for the onboarding of his nephew, Tony Porciello, who went on to become a long-standing partner at Macdero.


1995
Team Macdero is leading a building envelope project at 105 Isabella Street in Toronto’s Jarvis Street Corridor. The scope includes balcony replacements, sealant and caulking applications, and masonry repairs, enhancing both the functionality and appearance of the building's exterior.
1999
Nick Fodero (retired co-founder), Paul Arena (Vice President), Steve Mantle (Vice President, Operations), and Tony Porciello (past partner) take a break to enjoy leisure time together during their visit to the 1999 World of Concrete event in Las Vegas.


2002
Progress photos capture the multi-year restoration of a parking garage for a luxury condominium in Etobicoke. The project includes slab removal, structural repairs, waterproofing and premium podium deck upgrades.
2011
This two-year podium deck restoration project in midtown Toronto transformed the space into a modern architectural showcase. The work included extensive structural concrete repairs and comprehensive waterproofing of the podium deck to enhance the buildings structural integrity. The revitalized site featured high-end architectural finishes, complemented by the integration of modern art installations, sculpture gardens, and multiple reflecting fountains.


2018
Macdero takes on the Budweiser Stage vehicular bridge improvement project, involving bridge jacking, structural steel upgrades, bearing pad replacements, and waterproofing the bridge deck. The project also includes installing metal cladding around the bridge’s exterior, enhancing both durability and aesthetics.
2024
Macdero Construction (Ontario) Ltd. proudly receives the Sealant and Waterproofing Association of Canada’s (SWA) “Existing Building, Large Project” award for their outstanding work on the podium deck refurbishment project at the iconic Royal Bank Plaza.


2025
Times have changed and our teams have grown, but our commitment to restoration remains unwavering.
